Job Purpose

To support the faculty and department in pursuit of its academic, administration and researchobjectives which include: teaching according to a set syllabus; undertake projects, research andinnovation; perform academic administration, contribute to curriculum development and design;engage in work integrated learning, and service learning activities

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related discipline inComputing Science(The candidate must obtain all the undergraduate underpinning qualification within the field ofstudy)
• At least two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience in Higher Education

Recommendations

• The candidate must show expertise in several of the following technologies relating to
• Knowledge of Database Design and Web Servers will be an added advantage.
• Evidence of Technical portfolio on platforms like Github, Gitlab or Bitbucket will be an addedadvantage
• Teaching experience in higher education especially in the area of multimedia would beadvantageous

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Lecturing subjects within the IT curriculum to undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Participatein Curriculum development, Courseware development and assessment
• Perform appropriate academic andadministrative duties in the Department
• Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department
• Participate in research: managingundergraduate research projects
• Contribute to community initiatives by integrating community interventions into curriculum
• Promotion of Community Participation and Linkages
• Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies on co-operative education, newtechniques/technologies and research projects
• Assist with marketing and recruitment activities; contributes to the planning for "Open Day",
• Attends Open Day an provides Information on Faculty courses
• Personal/ Professional Development
• Safety/ management: Ensures compliance with safety rules
• Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
