The IIE Varsity College, Pretoria Campus has a vacancy for a Lecturer: School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Lecturing
   • Deliver lectures on programmes (must lecture on an IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
   • Mark assessments and provide feedback to students. May also be required to moderate assessment scripts within their subject fields across IIE sites.
2. Lecturer Development and Support
   • Assist in development and support processes for lecturers, including peer reviews, workshops, and consultations.
3. Student Development & Support
   • Lead and manage academic development and support for a specific programme and its students.
   • Monitor student success and implement support interventions as needed.
4. Research & Scholarship
   • Promote a culture of scholarship within their discipline and team.
   • Contribute to the institution’s research output targets.

Competencies Required:

• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Proactive work and self-management skills.
• Proven effective teaching experience based on reflective practice.
• Ability to manage relationships with managers and staff effectively.
• Passion for customer service.
• Experience with technology to enhance learning is an advantage.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Communications or English.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• At least 5 years of teaching and learning experience, preferably in an educational environment.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
