Responsibilities
  1. Teaching & Learning: Maintain a portfolio of high-quality teaching activities across modules or within a subject area, including lectures, seminars, labs, and supervision. Review and incorporate new teaching approaches, engage in assessment and reflection, lead undergraduate teaching, act as an external peer reviewer and examiner, and develop new teaching methods.
  2. Research: Contribute to the department's research strategy, initiate interdisciplinary collaborations, supervise postgraduate students, publish in recognized journals, develop personal research objectives, conduct significant research, and develop appropriate methods and techniques.
  3. Administration: Organize own activities, manage resources, contribute to wider departmental organization, and coordinate with staff and colleagues.
  4. Community Engagement: Liaise with industry and community organizations, provide advice to professional bodies, contribute to local networks, and participate in conferences and workshops.
Minimum Requirements
  • MSc in Physics specializing in theoretical, computational solid-state physics, focusing on modelling quantum systems.
  • Ability to use MD and DFT as modelling tools.
  • Experience with XPS equipment and data analysis.
  • Proven teaching and research record in the specialty.

  • PhD in Physics with specialization as above.

Working Conditions and Expectations
