Job description

Lecturer (Engineering) required in Newlands, Cape Town.

Salary: R50 000 – R60 000 CTC per month.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master of Engineering (NQF Level 9) (Civil Engineering)
  • 2 or more years of lecturing experience
  • Knowledge of South African higher education regulatory frameworks
  • Strong organisational, communication, and data analysis skills
  • Experience with academic material development and student tracking
  • Competent in computer literacy and detail-focused
  • Demonstrated teaching and learning expertise

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lecture across various engineering-related modules
  • Mark assessments, provide feedback, and moderate where required
  • Support at-risk students and implement academic interventions
  • Participate in programme development and accreditation
  • Assist with registration, consultations, and disciplinary processes
  • Contribute to academic research and scholarship
  • Build and maintain professional industry relationships
  • Coordinate student societies and the engineering learning centre
  • Support lecturer development through peer reviews, workshops and consultations
