Qualifications

• Masters in EE or CE with expertise in embedded systems or software engineering.
• At least 2 years lecturing at HEI or 2 years related industry experience.
• Evidence of incorporating teaching & learning and research & innovation into academic work.
• Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lecture courses for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Develop curricula and programmes.
• Assess students and support academic development.
• Develop subject material and teaching resources.
• Contribute to team teaching and administrative tasks.
• Initiate undergraduate and Honours projects.
• Develop innovative teaching methods and materials.
• Maintain strong learner focus and interpersonal skills.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to students.
• Keep up-to-date with latest technologies in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).

Job Purpose

The person will be required to lecture subjects on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A Masters qualification in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with expertise in embedded systems or software engineering. All underpinning qualifications must be in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• At least 2 years lecturing experience at the higher education level or 2 years related industry experience or a combination of the two.
• Evidence of incorporating teaching & learning and research & innovation outcomes into academic project.
• Must be registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
