A prominent educational institution in Gqeberha seeks a Lecturer in Computing Sciences. The role involves facilitating learning and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising students, and engaging in research. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, with at least 2 years of lecturing experience. Publication in accredited journals is desirable. The Department of Computing Sciences (CS) is looking to fill a position of Lecturer within the department with an enthusiastic, forward-thinking person who will contribute to the vision and mission of the Department. The field of Computing Sciences includes Computer Science and Information Systems. There are three key areas of performance that academic staff members in the department need to meet, namely: 1) learning and teaching; 2) engagement and 3) research generally focused within the Department’s research areas (descriptive topics available upon request).
The main purpose of this post is therefore to facilitate and administer the learning process for students in modules presented by the Department at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels specifically in the discipline of Computer Science, to supervise junior Postgraduate students, to be involved in research activities and regularly publish on such research and to contribute to community engagement.
The appointee will be expected to assist in the presentation of some of the undergraduate programming modules.
