Job description

Job Title: Lecturer - Commerce - Pretoria

Job Location: Gauteng, Pretoria

Deadline: August 23, 2025

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver lectures and engage students based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacing.
  2. Manage resources including academic materials and liaise with the Information Centre.
  3. Update Learning Management System and provide feedback to students.
  4. Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at-risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings.
  5. Monitor student engagement and assessment submissions, with relevant escalation.
  6. Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties.
  7. Support Part-time Lecturers with faculty requirements.
  8. Reflect on, review, and analyze student module results.
  9. Offer academic support to the Programme Coordinator with results analysis and tracking of modules to assess performance and identify at-risk modules.
  10. Develop and design teaching-learning materials supporting module-specific outcomes.
  11. Assist with student registration and orientation as required.
  12. Conduct scholarly disciplinary-based or SOTL research and deliver outputs according to institution/brand research targets; contribute to teaching-learning practices.
  13. Complete specified academic professional development interventions annually to enhance teaching practices and professional status.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Honours in Commerce or a related field (NQF Level 8).
  2. 2 to 3 years of lecturing or formal tutoring experience.
  3. 1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in the area of specialization (advantageous).
  4. Relevant education/teaching experience.
