SANTS seeks to appoint a suitable candidate in the BEd (Intermediate Phase Teaching) programme in a permanent capacity.Lecturer in the BEd (Intermediate Phase Teaching) programmeResponsibilitiesWorking in this Academic Department, under the leadership of the Academic Head, the incumbent will be expected to fulfil the following duties of a Lecturer in the Intermediate Phase department as described in the minimum requirements : Working under the leadership of an Academic Head with a strong focus on research, critical engagement, and professional practice.Working in an online environment related to Distance Education.Curriculum development of modules in the programme based in the Department.Presenting and coordinating undergraduate modules.
This includes moderation, report writing, marking, and providing online academic support to students.Using a learning management system.Presenting support in an E-learning environment.Reviewing and developing assessments.Coordinating external markers.Contribute to internal and external moderation processes.Contribute to Quality Assurance processes.Contribute to research processes.Minimum RequirementsMEd (an advantage) and Honours degree(s) in Education.BA and PGCE with specialisation in Intermediate Phase / Senior / FET Phase.BEd in Education.BEd in Intermediate Phase TeachingAt least two years of teaching experience in a school classroom; preferably in the Intermediate Phase classroom.At least two years experience at a Higher Education Institution in Intermediate Phase Education.Experience and expertise in curriculum development.Knowledge of and experience in facilitation in an E-learning environment.Registration with SACE.Fully computer literate and proficient in English.Access to adequate WiFi / data and a functional laptop or desktop computer.Required Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behavioural Attributes)Knowledge of the South African education system regarding Intermediate Phase Education.Strong understanding of research design, academic writing and ethics.Familiarity with research, critical literacy and its practical application in diverse South African classrooms, as well as sound knowledge of professional practice, ethics, and reflective teaching approaches, will be advantageous.Appropriate language and communication skills, including report writing.Ability to apply knowledge and skills in teaching and coordination.Ability to work as part of a team, under pressure, meet deadlines and work independently.High level of computer literacypetent and confident to engage effectively with online assessment.Remuneration will be based on qualiofications and experience in the relevant field.Closing Date : 30 June To apply, please complete the form via the below link and upload the below-mentioned documents via the link provided in the form : comprehensive CV.Certified copies of qualifications.Certified copy of your identity document.Names, e-mail addresses and telephone details of three referees we have permission to contact.Letter of motivation.Please remember to return to the form and submit the application after uploading your documents.
