Job description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Leasing Lead to manage our store lease portfolio across South Africa and the UK. This role will be responsible for lease negotiations, renewals, administration, and day-to-day leasing operations — ensuring optimal property management and rental terms across all Browns locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage the full lease lifecycle across all Browns retail locations (SA & UK)

· Assist the Executive team with lease negotiations, renewals, and contract structuring with landlords and centre management

· Review, draft, and finalise lease agreements in line with Browns' commercial and legal standards

· Monitor critical lease dates, renewal options, escalations, and obligations to ensure timely actions.

· Handle all lease-related queries, disputes, and amendments

· Coordinate with legal, finance, and store operations to ensure compliance and accuracy

· Maintain a centralised lease database and document control system

· Advise on space optimisation and new lease opportunities in support of expansion or repositioning

· Serve as the primary point of contact for all landlord communications and requests.

· Support the development of the retail leasing strategy aligned with business strategy.

· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on rental commitments

Requirements

· –5 years of relevant experience in retail leasing or property management

· Strong preference for candidates from the landlord/shopping centre environment

· Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills

· Excellent organisational and administrative abilities

  • Strong understanding of commercial lease terms and property law fundamentals
