Purpose of Job

Identifies learning needs, applies methodologies, develops learning material, and facilitates the training and assessments of the workforce/learners according to legal requirements within the business unit of responsibility and in alignment with the global learning strategy, frameworks, policies, and guidelines.

Key Accountabilities
  • Identify required learning interventions and outcomes by assessing current versus required knowledge and skills, proposing gap-closing interventions.
  • Assess skills development needs or learning gaps through research into competency areas.
  • Determine learning requirements based on target population profiles and intervention needs.
  • Design, develop, and select learning methodologies aligned with legislation and business needs.
  • Facilitate delivery of learning interventions using various methodologies.
  • Orient learners into applying their skills in the workplace.
  • Guide learners towards competent application of skills through projects or assignments.
  • Ensure assessments meet unit standard requirements and conduct assessments within expertise areas.
  • Oversee and evaluate assessment processes against standards and regulations.
  • Design evaluation methods, analyze performance data, and propose corrective actions.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness in improving job performance and knowledge transfer.
  • Adhere to Sasol's learning policies, frameworks, and legislation.
  • Support learners in managing their learning experiences and developing individual plans.
  • Assist managers in evaluating competence and identifying gaps using standard criteria.
  • Develop structured learning plans based on 70:20:10 principles.
  • Develop and update learning materials and assess learners' progress.
Formal Education
  • Grade 12
  • NQF level 4 – Chemical
  • Occupational Trade Certificate (Assessor Qualification) required
  • National certificate in Education, Training, and Development Practitioner (desired)
Working Experience

4+ relevant years

Required Personal and Professional Skills

Skills in marketing, research, content design, strategy, leadership, digital literacy, business acumen, evaluation, coaching, communication, and managing complexity, among others.
