Job summary

Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape, seeks an experienced Project Manager to drive efficiency improvements in automotive manufacturing. You will lead cross-functional teams, implement lean tools, and manage projects to boost productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality across production facilities.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial engineering background, 7+ years PM experience (4+ in automotive), and strong knowledge of IATF 16949.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
7+ years in project management with 4+ years in automotive manufacturing.
Experience implementing lean initiatives and process improvements.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 and supply chain dynamics.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.
Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and cost-saving opportunities.
Implement lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to optimize ops.
Manage new tech and equipment integration.
Coordinate with production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.
Develop timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
Identify risks and ensure safety and quality standards.
Report metrics to senior management.
