Unitrans is seeking an experienced Lead Training Facilitator with a passion for learning and development, to join our team.

This role is for a skilled professional eager to develop and deliver impactful training programs that empower our workforce by positively impacting driver behaviour.

This role includes leading and supervising a team of Training Facilitators across multiple African countries, to deliver driver and operator training that promotes safety, compliance and upskilling of Operators across Unitrans.

The Lead Training Facilitator role ensures delivery of training activities within a division (across countries) in alignment with organisational priorities.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum qualification : Grade 12.
  • NQF Level 5 in Human Resources or Education.
  • Professional certifications – Technical (Moderator and Assessor accreditation) Learning and Development Facilitator Certificate.
  • Related Bachelor's Degree would be an advantage.

  • Industry Experience : Agriculture, Mining and / or Transport and Logistics
  • Minimum of three years management and leadership experience in a similar role is required
  • Experience and a proven track record of managing teams across multiple African countries would be an advantage
  • Experience with implementing new systems and processes to address business needs and achieve organisational goals
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and report on the expired training within the Division.
  • Implementation and supervision of classroom and practical training schedules.
  • Monthly moderation of completed assessments.
  • Report on internal moderation.
  • Perform subject matter expert duties during customer audits.
  • Train-the-Trainer duties (Safe Operating- and Work Procedures, Customer specific training requirements, Performance Based Standards, Convey Dangerous Goods by Road and Operate a Vehicle Combination).
  • Assist with and supervise remedial training interventions (after incident / accident) and driver coaching activities (DriveCam, Mix Telematics).
  • Focus on high-risk drivers to improve and eliminate high-risk driving behaviours.
  • Supervise, coach and mentor divisional Training Facilitators.
  • Monitor DriveCam events and advise on training needs, develop Toolbox talks to mitigate risks.
  • Report on training interventions (monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, annually).
  • Assess and improve Training Facilitators' competencies.
  • Develop innovative training programs in consultation with management to address risks.
  • Facilitate periodic and reinforcement training for staff.
  • Assist with incident / accident investigations and training plans to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Facilitate legislative and internal training for drivers, ensuring understanding and learning.
  • Liaise with the Training Manager for training planning.
  • Perform job observations to enhance safety behaviors.
  • Act as a contingency during crises.
  • Lead, guide and direct a team of Training Facilitators.
