Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Toddler Teacher in Centurion to lead a classroom of toddlers and guide their early learning journey. You will design engaging, developmentally appropriate curricula and partner with families to support children's growth.

The role requires a qualification in Early Childhood Education (NQF 4+) or higher, at least 3 years in a lead-teacher capacity with toddlers, and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as Lead Teacher with toddlers.
• Strong knowledge of toddler development milestones.
• Qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• First Aid certification and background check required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Toddler Teacher to create an enriching learning experience for our youngest learners in Centurion . This role requires a deep understanding of toddler development, the ability to design engaging curriculum, and a commitment to fostering a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. You will lead a classroom of toddlers, guiding them through their initial educational journey and building strong relationships with both the children and their families. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for toddlers, focusing on sensory exploration, language acquisition, and social-emotional skills.
• Create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Manage classroom operations, including daily schedules, routines, and hygiene practices.
• Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress, maintaining detailed records and communicating effectively with parents.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers and other staff to ensure a cohesive and high-quality childcare program.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field (e.g., NQF Level 4 or higher).
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Lead Teacher or in a similar role with toddlers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of toddler development milestones and effective teaching strategies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Current First Aid certification and a clear criminal record check.
