Job summary

SAICA (SOUTH AFRICAN INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS) seeks a senior professional to drive sustainability governance, reporting frameworks, and ESG risk management. Technical/Legal Certification

Knowledge and understanding of:

• Ethics Gap Analysis (GAPP) and POPIA
• Good command of King IV & UN Principles on Business Human Rights and SDGs
• South African legislation - Company’s Act
• ISO Environmental Assurance or Assurance Applicable International Standard on Sustainability Assurance (ISSA)
• Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI)
• Task Force on Climate -Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) and Task Force on Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) ISSB Sustainability standards (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2)
• European Sustainability Reporting standards (ESRS)
• Sustainability Assurance

Experience

• At least seven (7) years` experience (post articles) in a technical or regulatory or standard-setting environment.
• At least three (3) years managerial experience in a role
• Professional experience in implementing sustainability strategies, Integrated and sustainability reporting frameworks and ESG risks.
• Media & public speaking experience
• Stakeholder engagement experience
• Ability to negotiate, present, lobby and engage on local and global platforms
• Project management skills - Ability to manage tasks and assignments using a project-based approach.

Knowledge and Skills

• Business Acumen - Knowledge and understanding of the principles of business, the application thereof, the opportunities within business and the seizure of such opportunities
• Financial Knowledge - Knowledge and understanding of financial practices and standards prescribed by regulation authorities
• Performance management - Understanding performance management policies and procedures
• HR policy and procedures - Understanding HR policies and procedures to support people management processes
• Information Technology - Understanding of ICT prescribed practices and legislative requirements for data security and information management
• Governance and Compliance Ability to implement and follow governance and compliance procedures
