Group Compliance Manager (Senior)

The Group Compliance department is seeking a knowledgeable, self-starting individual to join as a Compliance Manager (Senior). The role involves managing responsibilities to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and minimizing compliance risks within the business.

The purpose of this role is to have managerial oversight of the corporate portfolio, providing guidance and support to the corporate team.

Group Compliance offers sound advice on legislation, regulation, industry standards, codes, guidelines, and best practices to operational management, projects, and business units through the application of Compliance Risk Management principles, policies, processes, and procedures.

Group Compliance Corporate is an independent second line function that provides oversight and advice to Group Central Services, including Corporate Real Estate, Forensics, Marketing, Commissions, HR, Procurement, Risk, Internal Audit, Finance, Tax, Payroll, the Ethics office, Sustainability, and Information Systems.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Providing strategic guidance and support on implementing new and amended regulatory obligations.
  2. Managing the Regulatory Profile of the business and engaging with executive management regarding incidents related to regulatory breaches and exposures.
  3. Aligning business objectives with the Regulatory Framework and Exposure profile, offering guidance to ensure compliance.
  4. Providing thought leadership into business processes and procedures.
  5. Collating and reviewing reports and documents, ensuring timely submissions to relevant Boards and Committees.
  6. Staying updated on regulatory developments, especially in the financial services industry, with emphasis on Corporate Governance.
  7. Managing compliance staff, overseeing staff activities, conducting performance reviews.
Operational Duties
  1. Reviewing business activities for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  2. Drafting and finalizing work papers and evidence in accordance with Compliance Methodology standards.
  3. Ensuring work papers are comprehensive and supported by appropriate evidence.
  4. Discussing findings with management and recommending actions.
  5. Preparing follow-up reports on progress.
