Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a Lead Solar PV Installer in Cape Town with proven experience in installing residential and light commercial grid-tied PV systems. The role requires strong electrical acumen and hands-on expertise in roof and ground mount setups, inverters (micro and string), and monitoring systems.

You will lead the installation, coordinate with the Technical Support Manager, and ensure safety and quality throughout the project.

Qualifications

3+ years of solar installation experience required.
Experience installing both roof and ground mount systems.
Experience with micro and string inverters and setting up monitoring systems.
AREP/SAPVIA PV Green Card Certification preferred.
QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification in SA.

Responsibilities

Lead solar PV installations from start to finish on residential and light commercial projects.
Install PV system components and ensure safety, quality, and conformance to design.
Review project plans/drawings with Technical Support Manager and coordinate with crew.
Assemble solar array racking, seal roof penetrations, and install related equipment.
Set up solar monitoring system and diagnose issues to maintain performance.
Communicate with customers professionally and address questions and concerns.
