Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Software Developer (Java) to join our fintech client in Centurion, Gauteng. This on-site, full-time role focuses on guiding a high-performance team to deliver scalable financial applications, shaping technical direction, and ensuring quality throughout the SDLC.

You will mentor developers, drive best practices, and collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Proven experience designing and developing large-scale enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and developing large-scale, enterprise-level applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Experience with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and version control systems (Git).
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
