Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Security Architect to steer the cybersecurity strategy for a fully remote division. You will design, implement, and govern secure systems across the organization, driving security decisions and mentoring other security professionals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive information security experience, with at least 3 years in security architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing secure, large-scale enterprise solutions.
• Strong knowledge of security principles, networking, cryptography and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise across security domains: network, endpoint, application security, IAM.
• Experience with security frameworks: NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2.
• Understanding of GDPR and POPIA regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote, autonomous work environment.
• CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, or TOGAF are highly desirable.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Security Architect to join their entirely remote cybersecurity division. This role is paramount in shaping and executing the company's strategic security architecture, ensuring comprehensive protection of its digital assets and infrastructure. As a Lead Security Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and governing secure systems, frameworks, and policies across the organization. You will lead initiatives to identify, evaluate, and integrate new security technologies and methodologies. This is a fully remote position, ideal for a seasoned professional who can operate with autonomy, drive strategic security decisions, and mentor other security professionals. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and executive leadership, to embed security into the DNA of the company. • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex security solutions for large-scale enterprises.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, networking, cryptography, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in various security domains, including network security, endpoint security, application security, and identity and access management.
• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, collaborative team environment.
• Relevant certifications like CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, or TOGAF are highly desirable.
