Qualifikationen

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 8+ years in financial services regulation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive regulatory compliance strategies for the financial services business.
• Interpret and advise on financial services regulations, including but not limited to, FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and related legislation.
• Manage relationships with key regulatory bodies, such as the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).
• Oversee the legal aspects of product development, ensuring regulatory compliance from inception.
• Lead and mentor a team of legal and compliance professionals.
• Conduct regulatory risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
• Advise on licensing requirements, applications, and ongoing compliance obligations.
• Draft, review, and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Manage regulatory inquiries, investigations, and enforcement actions.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience, with a significant focus on financial services regulation.
• Deep understanding of South African financial services legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience in advising on compliance, risk management, and regulatory engagement within the financial sector.
• Experience in leading and managing legal or compliance teams.
