Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a leading financial institution in Pretoria to recruit a Lead Quantitative Analyst. The candidate will spearhead quantitative strategies, designing advanced models for trading, risk management, and portfolio optimization, while guiding a high-performing team of analysts.

The role requires an advanced degree and at least seven years in quantitative finance, with strong programming skills in Python, C++, or R.

Qualifications

Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
Minimum 7 years of experience in quantitative finance with model development.
Proficiency in Python, C++, or R and experience with financial libraries.
Deep understanding of financial markets, derivatives, and statistical modeling.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement quantitative models and algorithms for financial markets.
Lead and mentor a team of quantitative analysts.
Collaborate with trading desks and portfolio managers to provide quantitative solutions.
Backtest and validate models to ensure performance and robustness.
Research and explore new data sources, technologies, and analytical techniques to enhance trading strategies.
Communicate complex quantitative concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
