Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Lead QA Engineer (AI Native) based in South Africa to own the quality strategy for a high-reliability AI-first codebase. You will design end-to-end testing, lead AI-driven testing approaches, and ensure production gates and release safety are central to the workflow.

You will collaborate with a small, senior team, applying hands-on automation and scalable processes to improve product quality while leveraging AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing testing processes for complex products with high reliability.
• Hands-on test automation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI coding agents as part of software development.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end testing pipeline with pre-merge checks and production gates.
• Define quality strategy for AI-generated code and scalable test coverage.
• Build automated UI tests across browsers and mobile devices.
• Evaluate and integrate external testing tools to improve reliability.
