Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead chemical plant initiatives in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role combines on-site site management with planning and reporting from remote locations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage contractors, and interface with clients and regulators to drive successful capital investments and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of project management and engineering experience in chemical/process industry.
• Proven track record delivering large capital projects.
• Experience with contract management, procurement, and construction oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of chemical plant projects from feasibility to commissioning.
• Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules; ensure adherence.
• Coordinate process, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams for integrated design.
• Select and manage contractors and vendors throughout execution.
• Oversee site construction and installation with focus on quality and safety.
• Manage risks, issues, and changes; interface with clients and regulators.
• Prepare and present status reports to senior management.
