Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking a Lead Educator to spearhead our preschool program for ages 3 to 5. You will drive curriculum development, mentor junior staff, and implement innovative, play-based teaching methods in a nurturing, inclusive classroom.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field, with at least 5 years in ECD and 2 years in a lead role, plus First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in early childhood education with at least 2 years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Proven experience in curriculum development for preschool-aged children.
• Strong understanding of child development theories and assessment methods.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Willingness to relocate to Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continually improve the preschool curriculum based on best practices.
• Lead and mentor teachers and assistants, providing guidance and professional development.
• Design and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences for 3–5 year olds.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Assess children's learning and development and provide feedback.
• Manage classroom resources and schedule effectively.
• Engage with parents to share progress and program activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
