Job description

This newly created role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our innovative and passionate mental health pharmacy team based at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness.

This Role Will
  • Provide strategic, professional, and operational leadership to pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support workers within the team.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy technical team, including performance management and appraisal.
  • Influence service development and lead the evolution of the roles and responsibilities of the pharmacy technical team to meet future service needs.
  • Manage the education, training, and development of technical and support staff within the team strategically and operationally.
  • Provide direct patient care to support the delivery of a safe and effective mental health pharmacy service to patients across North Highland.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, committed to service development and improvement, with meticulous attention to detail. You should be a strong leader and role model, setting high standards for patient-centered service delivery and professional practice.

Applicants should be qualified to S(N)VQ3 Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, hold a BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, or an equivalent qualification. Registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council is required, along with experience in planning, coordinating, and managing a pharmacy technical service. An accredited accuracy checking qualification is desirable.
