Job summary

Gauteng College of Nursing seeks a Lecturer to lead the postgraduate diploma in orthopaedic nursing, delivering education and training to specialist student nurses on campus and in clinical settings.

The role requires a professional nurse with an advanced degree, SANC registration, and experience in nursing education and assessment. The incumbent will engage in curriculum development, scholarly activities, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a Grade 12/National Senior Certificate and a basic qualification accredited with SANC for registration as Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur.
• Post Basic Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing Science registered with SANC is required.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or Public Health is preferred; data analysis experience may be considered.
• Proof of current SANC registration and an Assessor/Moderator certificate are required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate education and training of specialist student nurses in clinical and theory settings.
• Guide and support student nurses; supervise and assess competency.
• Contribute to college meetings, committees and scholarly research activities.
• Participate in curriculum implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
