Placements24 is seeking a Principal Research Scientist in Rustenburg, North West, to lead ambitious nanomaterials research and development. The role involves guiding experimental design, supervising researchers, and translating discoveries into viable technologies, within a collaborative R&D setting.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Materials Science (or related field) with 8+ years post-doctoral nanotech experience, demonstrated leadership, and a strong publication record.

Formación

• PhD in Materials Science or closely related field.
• Minimum 8 years post-doctoral research in nanotechnology with strong publications.
• Expertise in synthesis, fabrication, and characterization of nanomaterials.
• Experience leading research projects and mentoring scientists.

Responsabilidades

• Lead R&D of novel nanomaterials and nanostructures with new synthesis methods.
• Design and execute complex nanoscale experiments.
• Develop and validate advanced characterization protocols (TEM, SEM, AFM, XRD, spectroscopy).
• Mentor postdoctoral researchers and technicians.
• Translate findings into practical applications and IP.
• Prepare technical reports, papers, and patent applications.
• Collaborate with internal engineers and external partners.
• Manage budgets and timelines for projects.
• Keep abreast of advances in nanotechnology and materials science.
