Our client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Lead Mechanical Designer to join their dynamic, growing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the overall project delivery in accordance with Company, Client and industry requirements. This position is based in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities:- Producing high quality, cost effective, detail 3D designs and general arrangement drawings.
- Be proficient in all aspects of 3D MicroStation software (and preferably OBD) and to use those skills within the client’s defined CAD procedures.
- Be proficient in the layout and detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in their nominated discipline.
- Produce design drawings that are consistent industry standard techniques and that comply to the client’s drawing office and CAD procedures.
- Guide, lead and Mentor junior to intermediate Mechanical Designers
- Be capable of producing design drawings within the project defined budget hours for the defined deliverable document.
- Sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques.
- Check design drawings as required.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:- Proficiency in Bentley 3D Microstation software.
- Qualification in Engineering Design Drafting of their discipline or directly related industry experience of 15+ years.
- Ability to consistently provide designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
- Ability to manage drafting team and achieve budget manhours and milestone deliverable dates.
- Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge for mineral processing designs and technologies in various commodities.
- Demonstrate a high level of technical ability within the field of expertise and a broad understanding and knowledge base in the minerals processing engineering field.
- Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft suite of software packages.
