As a Lead and Market Researcher you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the sales and marketing team by researching and generating a highly targeted and accurate list of business leads with the correct information. In addition to this you will be responsible for assisting to “map out the market” to help the business better understand its target market and market penetration. The quality of these lists and research defines the effectiveness of our prospecting. Ultimately, the role will boost sales by generating pipeline leads and contribute to our long-term business growth and make an impact on the success of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Research and generate an accurate company and contact list of business leads, within the relevant target markets.
- Use LinkedIn or other online resources such as lead generation tools (Apollo & Zoom Info), checking websites, to gather the correct contact information.
- Be able to cold-call prospects to confirm the correct information or to get missing details, where required.
- Plan and manage activities to achieve the target for the required minimum number of contacts daily.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify target audiences, industry trends, and potential customer segments.
- Mapping of organisations to identify key decision-makers and influencers, as well as mapping targeted verticals and companies within those verticals based on provided specifications.
- Capture the correct information into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Record contact lists in Excel database ensuring accurate entries.
- Maintain accurate and organized lead databases and CRM systems.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand their requirements and provide them with qualified leads.
- Stay updated with industry trends and sales techniques to continuously improve lead generation strategies.
- From time to time be responsible for following up with event and webinar bookings
- From time to time, be responsible with assigning qualifying leads.
- Assist with identifying leads and understanding leads.
- Enriching data by ensuring that the CRM system (Salesforce) is accurately updated with all necessary information.
- Assist with general market research, this could include competitor and vendor research and analysis.
- Develop and maintain excellent product knowledge and market knowledge to assist with market understanding.
- Collaborate with team members to discuss research objectives and refine methodologies.
Minimum Requirements
- Secondary school diploma
- Prior professional work experience as an Administrator, Researcher or related field
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, Email, Excel etc.)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Self-starter with ability to work independently without micro-management, but also, a team player
- Ability to ask questions that demonstrate understanding
- Target-driven, dynamic, and confident, with a proven track record
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications or similar field of study or equivalent experience
- Experience with CRM software is an advantage
- Prior sales experience
- Financial Institution expertise
- Experience working in SaaS or professional services company
