Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Richards Bay is seeking an experienced Logistics Fleet Manager to lead transportation operations. You will oversee a diverse fleet, ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and optimize maintenance, routes and costs.

The role demands hands-on leadership, driver management, and close collaboration with service providers. You will drive efficiency across KwaZulu-Natal distribution network and report to the operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Fleet Management or a similar transportation role.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and operational logistics.
• Knowledge of relevant transport legislation and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage a team of drivers and support staff.
• Experience with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the company's fleet, including vehicle allocation, scheduling, and dispatch.
• Develop and manage comprehensive vehicle maintenance programs to ensure fleet reliability and longevity.
• Ensure all drivers are properly licensed, trained, and adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor fuel consumption, optimize routes, and implement strategies to reduce operational costs.
• Manage relationships with third‑party service providers, such as maintenance workshops and parts suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet activities, including mileage, maintenance, and driver performance.
