Placements24 is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer in Centurion to spearhead security engineering initiatives. The role demands a strategic thinker to design and maintain a resilient security architecture while leading a team of security professionals.

You will drive implementation of advanced security technologies, shape cybersecurity strategy, mentor talent, and collaborate with development and operations to embed security best practices across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent professional experience in relevant fields.
• 8+ years of progressive information security engineering experience, including 2+ years in leadership.

This senior position demands a strategic thinker with extensive technical expertise to design, build, and maintain a resilient security architecture. You will lead a team of security professionals, drive the implementation of advanced security technologies, and play a key role in shaping the company's overall cybersecurity strategy. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable and robust information security solutions.
• Oversee the implementation and management of security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
• Develop and execute security architecture reviews and threat modeling exercises.
• Manage and mentor a team of security engineers, fostering their professional growth and technical skills.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Respond to and manage complex security incidents, performing root cause analysis and recommending preventive measures.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in information security engineering , with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and application security.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, compliance regulations, and risk management principles.
