New employees to the State will be paid biweekly.
There are 26 biweekly pay periods in a year. This vacancy is a lead worker TM II located out of Hanging Lakes Tunnel.
Base pay is typically between $57,000 and $63,000 per year. This position is also eligible for a housing stipend of $X per month.
This position is responsible for leading patrol and overseeing general maintenance activities for a designated area. The TM II performs skilled, specialized heavy construction equipment operation and manual labor under hazardous conditions.
Responsibilities include maintaining facilities to their original condition, ensuring equipment safety, and performing various maintenance tasks such as road surface repair, roadside facility maintenance, traffic services, roadside appearance, bridge/structure maintenance, snow and ice control, and equipment upkeep.
Additional duties include paperwork, using SAP for work orders and timesheets, trimming trees, graffiti removal, equipment operation, and responding to emergencies. The work environment involves exposure to noise, fumes, dust, chemicals, and working near heavy traffic and at heights.
At least three years of highway maintenance experience, including repairing potholes, operating heavy equipment, maintaining right-of-way fences, street striping, bridge maintenance, and snow removal. Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Class A or B, with possible endorsements.
Pre-employment screening, valid CDL, possible drug testing, ability to work overtime, live within 30 minutes of work site, and attend annual training are required.
Experience with emergency response, extensive heavy equipment operation, safety, communication skills, leadership, and familiarity with relevant regulations and software.
