Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment is looking for a Senior Engineer to join a leading financial services organization in Stellenbosch. This is a 6-month contract opportunity, convertible to permanent, offering a competitive market-related package. The role involves leading the frontend technical vision, driving quality engineering, and mentoring engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of frontend experience, particularly in React, and embody a passion for engineering excellence and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in frontend or web development, with significant React experience.
• Proven experience operating in a Lead Engineer, Architect, or Senior Technical role.
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Node.js, and frontend tooling.
• Solid architectural experience using patterns such as Redux, BLoC, and DDD.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision for React-based applications.
• Design and implement robust quality systems with high test coverage.
• Lead the standardization of complex UI/UX configurations across platforms.
• Architect application logic using modern patterns such as BLoC and Redux.
• Drive automated testing and build pipelines for stable release cycles.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
