Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Event Chef for a renowned Paarl catering company. You will lead the culinary team, design exceptional menus, oversee food preparation and presentation, and ensure the highest standards at weddings, corporate events, and private functions.

The ideal candidate has extensive high-volume catering or fine dining experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage on-site operations with remote administrative duties.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Chef in catering or fine dining
• 3+ years in a senior/supervisory role
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Experience with menu costing and kitchen operations
• Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation standards

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor culinary team for events
• Design innovative menus considering client needs and dietary requirements
• Ensure top-quality food taste and presentation
• Oversee kitchen operations, inventory, ordering and waste reduction
• Conduct tastings and client menu presentations
• Manage on-site food prep and service during events
• Adhere to HACCP and safety regulations
• Collaborate with event planners and sales teams
• Control food costs and contribute to event profitability
• Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques
• Handle menu costing, ordering and scheduling via on-site and remote work
