Placements24 is partnering with a prestigious architectural studio in KwaZulu-Natal to recruit a Lead Residential Architect for Richards Bay. You will helm the design process for bespoke, energy-efficient homes and guide a dedicated team from concept through construction documentation.

The role focuses on high-end residential architecture, sustainability, client liaison, and on-site leadership, offering a pathway to shape the region's architectural identity while mentoring junior architects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• Professional SACAP registration.
• 7+ years of progressive residential architecture experience.
• Strong portfolio of residential design, esp. sustainable elements.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and rendering tools.
• Solid knowledge of SA building codes and regulations.
• Excellent communication, client management and leadership skills.
• Experience in sustainable building practices and materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of exclusive, high-quality residential projects.
• Engage with clients to understand vision, needs and lifestyle aspirations.
• Develop sustainable design solutions focusing on energy efficiency and environment connection.
• Produce detailed architectural drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Manage timelines, budgets and consultant coordination.
• Oversee construction phases, ensuring design integrity on site in Richards Bay.
• Mentor junior architects and designers within the team.
• Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies for residential developments.
• Stay current with luxury and sustainable residential architecture trends.
