Job summary

Discovery Limited in South Africa seeks a senior technical leader to conceptualise digital solutions and drive end-to-end design aligned with strategic business goals. You will lead the creation of architectures for web and mobile platforms, ensuring scalability and interoperability across our estate.

This role requires deep expertise in software architecture, data integration, and domain modelling, with a focus on delivering value through governed, standards-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and implementing Digital (WEB/Mobile) and bespoke applications.
• Strong experience with architecture design and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and understand different technology solutions and contribute to decisions.
• Translate architecture requirements into solution diagrams and context diagrams.
• Review requirements and sign off specs to ensure alignment with business and IT architecture.
• Recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.
• Advise on design standards, technology stack, and data management.
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices across domains.
• Collaborate with technical architects to align IT architecture with business needs.
• Present complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Build networks with peers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate design activity across architecture, development and service delivery teams.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
