Purpose Statement

The Copy Lead is a senior copywriting role responsible for producing high-quality content while guiding and supporting a team of copywriters. This role sets the

creative standard for copy, ensuring brand consistency and strategic alignment across all platforms. The Copy Lead plays a key role in mentoring writers, refining

content strategies, and ensuring that Capitec’s messaging remains compelling, clear, and impactful.

Experience

7+ years of experience in copywriting, with strong expertise in multi-channel content creation

  • Proven ability to balance hands-on copywriting with team support and creative leadership
  • Experience working in financial services, technology, or consumer brands is advantageous
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of writing styles and strategic thinking
  • Knowledge of content strateg, and SEO best practices is desirable

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Communication or Copywriting

  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to copywriters
