Lead Cook

Do you have experience in Food Services at a Christian camp? Looking for a place to serve full-time in a thriving ministry? Ponderosa is looking to fill an immediate opening for a second Lead Cook position. This position is second in command of our food services department and reports directly to the Food Services Director. This is a year-round full-time paid leadership position. Our food services department serves up to 350 guests at a time, and the Lead Cook position is vital to our ministry.

Qualified applicants will have experience in food service within Christian Camp Ministry, preferably with leadership experience, and be willing to work hard within a Christian Ministry team.

Duties of the Lead Cook include:

1. Leading a crew of part-time staff to prepare and serve high-quality meals.
2. Supervision of staff as they carry out cooking, cleaning, and dishwashing duties.
3. Training of new staff.
4. Assisting the Food Services Director in scheduling staff, ordering food, and planning meals.

This position qualifies for employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement, and paid vacation. This position includes housing on camp; however, single-person housing is all that we have due to staff housing limitations.
