Lead Cloud Architect

Cloud Architect will lead and deliver hands-on, business-oriented strategic and technical consulting to our clients for cloud infrastructure, automation solutions, and solution architecture.

Key responsibilities

Individuals in this role will partner with Google Cloud or AWS teams and Searce Cloud Consulting teams to:

1. Lead pre-sales activities and generate better outcomes for our clients by whiteboarding their current infrastructure environment and proposing architectural solutions to migrate and improve infrastructure from on-premise to cloud.
2. Propose solutions to optimize cloud spend across different public cloud providers.
3. Experiment with new cloud offerings, define best practices for cloud, automation, and DevOps, and serve as a solution visionary and technology expert across multiple channels.
4. Continuously upgrade skills and learn new technologies as client needs and technology evolve.
5. Utilize experience in Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Microsoft Azure to build hybrid-cloud solutions, defining reusable components, frameworks, standards, and tools.
6. Manage project teams and facilitate the definition of project deliverables around core cloud-based technologies and methods.
7. Define tracking mechanisms to ensure IT standards and methodologies are met, delivering quality results.
8. Participate in technical reviews of requirements, designs, code, and artifacts.
9. Contribute to Statements of Work (SoWs), technical project roadmaps, and other documentation necessary for successful project execution using technical scoping and solutioning approaches.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in infrastructure modernization for digital natives, ISVs, and Fintechs.
• Experience designing infrastructure migration plans for large-scale racks to cloud environments.
• Experience leading large-scale migrations of on-premise workloads to public clouds.
• Understanding of Apache web servers on Linux and SharePoint Server Farms.
• Proficiency with CloudFormation, Terraform, and JSON.
• Automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Strong interest in innovations in public cloud technologies.
• Ability to architect solutions, code, research, and iteratively improve solutions.
• Behavioral traits including risk-taking, embracing failures, a proactive attitude, and a growth mindset.

Preferred qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience, including at least 5+ years hands-on in Cloud Computing (AWS/GCP/Azure) and IT operations in a global enterprise.
• DevOps experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and designing multi-region, load-balanced microservices platforms.
• Strong Linux skills, with RHEL/CentOS or Ubuntu/Debian; RHCE or equivalent desirable; Windows Server knowledge is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Excellent networking, VPN, and firewall knowledge, especially for VPC deployments.
• Understanding of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) related to security, resilience, and performance.
• Experience with hardened operating systems, security concerns, bastions, DMZs.
• Good analytical, communication, problem-solving, and learning skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platform programming and lean development methodologies.
