About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the petrochemical sector, is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Chemical Process Engineer to spearhead process innovation and operational excellence in George, Western Cape. This critical role involves guiding a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and optimization of complex chemical processes, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and environmental standards. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and the successful integration of new technologies within our client's state-of-the-art facilities. This position demands strong leadership capabilities, a deep technical understanding of chemical engineering principles, and a proven track record in project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of process engineers on multiple concurrent projects.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of chemical processes, from conceptual design and feasibility studies to detailed engineering, commissioning, and ongoing optimization.
• Develop and review process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications to ensure optimal design and operability.
• Conduct comprehensive safety reviews, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments, implementing robust mitigation strategies.
• Champion the adoption of advanced process control strategies and automation technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
