Placements24 is seeking a Lead Audio Engineer in Johannesburg to spearhead immersive audio for entertainment platforms. You will lead a team of audio professionals, drive sound design, mixing, and mastery, and collaborate with designers, developers, and artists to realize creative visions.

The role requires a bachelor’s in audio engineering or related field, 7+ years in audio, and strong DAW and middleware expertise across Pro Tools, Wwise, FMOD, and game engines.

• Proven expertise in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Cubase.
• Strong understanding of audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Proficiency in audio programming and scripting (e.g., C++, Python).
• Exceptional ear for sound quality, mixing, and mastering.
• Experience with acoustic principles and sound propagation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
