Job summary

Tiger Brands is seeking an accountant to review, analyze and report on trading results for the bakery, ensuring adherence to Financial Standards, Policies, Procedures and Internal Controls.

You will manage weekly and monthly financial accounts, budgeting and balance sheet control, including journals, reconciliations and asset registers.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified CA or BCom Accounts with 2–3 years in FMCG accounting/admin.
• Strong communication skills across levels.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and Oracle.
• 2–3 years accounting experience in FMCG environment.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly journals, prepare reconciliations, cost analysis, inventory reporting and fixed asset maintenance.
• Assist auditors with information and ensure internal controls are applied.
• Lead admin staff oversight and monitoring of finance functions.
• Analyse weekly financial accounts and support budgeting.
• Plan cash flow for the bakery and monitor bank accounts.
• Review debtors ageing ledger weekly and reconcile stock movements.
• Attend monthly stock counts and compile annual budgets and year-end schedules.
• Implement financial standards, policies and internal controls.

Job description

The accountant’s job is to review, analyze and report on trading results of the bakery and makes recommendations to the Bakery Manager. Ensure Financial Standards, Policies and Procedures and Internal Controls are adhered to. Manage all weekly and monthly financial accounts, accurate budgeting and ensure the accuracy of profits and balance sheet control accounts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• You are focused on ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the GL by processing monthly journals, preparing reconciliations, cost analysis, inventory reporting and fixed asset register maintenance.
• You will assist internal and external auditors with information/feedback requested and ensure consistent application of internal controls.
• Lead control and monitor the functions of all admin staff.
• Analyse weekly financial accounts.
• Plan the cash flow of the bakery and monitor bank accounts.
• Review debtor’s ageing ledger weekly.
• Attend monthly stock counts and reconcile stock movements weekly.
• Compile annual budgets.
• Compile year-end accounts and schedules.
• Implement Financial Standards, Policies and Procedures and internal Controls aligned to the Bakeries BMR (Basic Minimum Requirements).

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

• Newly Qualified CA or Bcom Accounts degree with 2 to 3 years accounting and administrative in a FMCG environment
