Job summary

Maersk in Durban is seeking an LCL Operations Agent to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of LCL import/export shipments, from booking through to delivery and invoicing. You will collaborate with customers, shipping lines, transport providers, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure efficient, accurate movement of shipments in line with customer expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of relevant employment experience in freight forwarding, logistics, and/or LCL operations.
Experience coordinating import and export shipments.
Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs processes.

Responsibilities

Shipment Coordination & Execution: manage LCL import/export shipments from booking to delivery.
Coordinate cargo collection, warehouse handling, consolidation, deconsolidation, and final distribution.
Arrange bookings with shipping lines, co-loaders, transport providers, depots and warehouses.
Monitor shipment milestones and proactively track cargo movement.
Provide proactive updates on shipment status and delays.
