Position

Roche Diagnostics in Cape Town has a vacancy for a Launch Manager. As the Launch Manager, you will be responsible for developing logistics strategies for Diagnostics Operations in Cape Town and Penzberg (DOZ). Your role involves coordinating logistics for new product launches, supporting projects, and facilitating DOZ sub-projects. You will collaborate with project leads, project managers, the Project Portfolio team, and MSAT teams to ensure successful logistics process implementation. This position contributes to key milestones and process optimization to ensure project success.

Key Challenges

• Process Improvement, New Product Development, and Product Quality projects: Focus on enhancing processes and ensuring high quality of new product developments.
• Support and align launch management frameworks and best practices across sites: Standardize and improve launch strategies across Cape Town and Penzberg.
• Support of Launch Manager and Project Portfolio Manager: Provide critical support to drive project success.

Key Accountabilities

Project Work

• Manage Cross-Departmental / Cross-Functional Projects / Sub-Project Groups: Lead diverse projects related to logistics, ensuring coordination across departments.
• Create All Logistical Requirements: Develop logistics requirements for new product launches and manage changes.
• Provide Expert Advice: Offer specialized advice on logistics processes, procedures, and systems.
• Master Data Setup and Maintenance: Manage master data in SAP systems and other tools.
• Logistics Concepts and Material Flow Plans: Create and maintain logistics concepts and material flow plans.
• Functional Representation on Project Teams: Represent logistics functions within project teams.

Project Planning

• Develop Project Production Plans: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop production plans.
• Demand Planning: Forecast and plan input materials for projects.
• Project Schedule Management: Manage project schedules and address deviations.

Continuous Improvement Process

• Implement Ideas for Improvement: Drive innovation to improve launch management processes.

Other Responsibilities

• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Participate in International Project Meetings: Contribute to global strategy alignment.

Who you are

You are an independent, self-disciplined professional with experience in project work, planning, and SAP master data, preferably in a production or quality environment. You possess excellent communication and analytical skills, are collaborative, passionate about problem-solving, entrepreneurial, reliable, and a strong team player.

Qualifications

• B.S. with 3+ years of related experience in operations, master data management, or project management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed, high-performing team.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite applications.

Abilities

• Manage priorities effectively.
• Experience in planning, master data, and project work within a quality or production environment.
• Knowledge of biomedical/biotechnology manufacturing (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills in English; German skills are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of Design Control and Phased Development processes (preferred).
• Familiarity with agile methodologies (preferred).
