Job summary

A sustainable technology company in Johannesburg is looking for a Laptop Technician with strong electronics and laptop troubleshooting skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for refurbishing laptops, ensuring quality standards, and performing customer repairs. A minimum of 3 years of IT Technician experience and relevant qualifications, such as Matric and a Diploma in Electronics Engineering, are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years' proven experience as an IT Technician.
• Strong understanding of electronic circuit boards.
• Computer literate, proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and refurbish at least 10 laptops per day.
• Identify faults and ensure repairs meet specifications.
• Maintain a tidy and clean work area.

We have a vacancy for an energetic individual with strong electronics, and proven skills in laptop troubleshooting and repairs skills. The Laptop Technician should be ready to work in a fast-paced environment, strive to give good quality end products, have a positive and confident attitude. The incumbent should possess good working knowledge on information technology assets.

The incumbent will be reporting directly to the Laptop Department Team Leader and actively liaise with other functional departments within the company.

Key Performance Areas

1.Refurbishment (Sales Orders)

Ensure Sales Orders are prepared accurately and on time.

Accurately trace faults on equipment to identify faulty components.

Ensure that all laptops are always assembled to the highest quality.

Maintain the high refurbishment standard set out by the companies QMS guidelines.

Assemble a minimum of 10 laptops per day.

Complete 1 vinyl cover per day.

2. Customer Repairs

Accurately identify faults to ensure repairs are done according to given specifications and QMS

3. Housekeeping

Ensure work area, station and/or desk is tidy, clean and neat always.

4. Reports

Weekly reports submissions for qualitative metrics to team leader.

5. Internal Communication

Keep Line Manager informed of all challenges in the department.

Recruitment Profile

Experience:

• 3 years’ proven experience as an IT Technician

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Diploma in Electronics Engineering and A+

Other:

• Have a strong understanding of electronic circuit boards
• Computer Literate (Ms Office)
• Good knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Certificate of Fitness - Fit for duty
