CapeNature seeks an energetic Landscape Unit Manager to lead the Boland Landscape Unit, including Jonkershoek and Hottentots Holland Nature Reserves. You will oversee conservation operations, policy implementation, and community engagement to ensure biodiversity resilience and effective protected area management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nature/Environmental Conservation or Management.
• At least five years middle management experience in conservation.
• Knowledge of ecological processes, natural resource management, and legislation.
• Experience in project management and governance, HR and safety basics.
• Ability to communicate in at least two official Western Cape languages in writing and speech.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement biodiversity and conservation policy to enhance resilience.
• Lead landscape conservation and stewardship across protected areas.
• Promote biodiversity economy and sustainable use through initiatives.
• Engage communities and stakeholders to support conservation goals.
• Ensure governance, risk management, and compliance across operations.
• Oversee personnel, capacity building, budgeting and safety.
