Job summary

Afrique Connection Consultancy is recruiting a Laboratory Technician for a KwaZulu-Natal Umlazi clinical research site on a one-year fixed-term contract. The role requires Microbiology or Clinical Pathology certification and HPCSA registration, with at least 2 years of lab experience and knowledge of LIMS.

The position involves handling samples, data capture, equipment maintenance, stock control and strict adherence to biosafety protocols in a fast-paced research environment.

Qualifications

• Laboratory / Medical Technician - Microbiology or Clinical Pathology certified.
• Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• At least 2 years' laboratory experience in a Microbiology or Clinical Pathology laboratory.
• Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Knowledge of SANAS, GCP, GCLP standards and IATA.
• Knowledge of point-of-care testing and adherence to strict turnaround times.

Our client, an award-winning global research organisation conducting HIV, TB and Covid-19 research at clinical research sites in KwaZulu-Natal, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Laboratory Technician for its Umlazi clinical research site in Durban. This is a one-year fixed-term contract.
