Job description

High Level Objective
  • Analysis of pesticide residues in fresh produce using the QuEChERS extraction technique.
  • Optimize the use of laboratory equipment in the preparative section.
  • Ensure timely service delivery to customers.
  • Self-management and minimizing financial risks.
  • Implementation of QMS (ISO 17025).
  • Management of critical consumables.
Experience Required
  • Preparation of chemicals, solutions, and standards.
  • Sample extraction processes.
  • Basic knowledge of chromatographic instrumentation.
  • Adherence to good laboratory practices.
Qualifications
  • National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
Key Responsibilities
Method Validation
  • Ensure necessary method updates and equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in proficiency testing.
Quality Control
  • Internal verification of equipment.
  • Control and record environmental conditions.
  • Check chemical quality and record controls.
Technical Processes - Implementation
  • Sample registration on LIMS.
  • Extraction, weighing, homogenizing, filtering.
  • Equipment verification.
  • Mycotoxin Immuno-Affinity Cleanup.
  • Extraction methods for fatty acids, peroxide value, moisture content.
  • Pesticide analysis and preparation of standards.
  • Participation in proficiency testing.
  • Instrument setup and sample analysis.
Meetings
  • Participate in staff meetings.
Implementation of QMS (ISO 17025)
  • Apply standard QMS protocols.
  • Ensure compliance and record non-conformances.
Communication, Advising, and Reporting
  • Report irregularities timely.
  • Maintain effective communication for internal improvement.
  • Ensure test result quality and compliance.
Knowledge Required
  • Implementation of LIMS (advantage).
  • Knowledge of Mycotoxin/Pesticides/Dairy analysis.
  • General chromatographic knowledge.
