An exciting opportunity has become available for a Laboratory Technician to join a dynamic and specialised technical team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on managing the full lifecycle of electronic blasting equipmentfrom maintenance and assembly to software upgrades and field support.

The purpose of the role :

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for maintaining, assembling, modifying, and repairing blasting and underground pump controller equipment. This includes plant and test equipment, with a strong focus on quality, performance, and stakeholder satisfaction. The technician will play a key role in ensuring that all equipment is functional, up to date, and meets operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Include :

  • Assembling and modifying blasting equipment and test devices
  • Performing regular maintenance and keeping detailed records
  • Conducting software upgrades and equipment validation tests
  • Assisting with production testing and fault finding
  • Ensuring proper documentation of equipment status, location, and repair history

Key Skills & Experience :

  • National Technical Certificate N4 in Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years experience in soldering and assembling components
  • At least 1 year experience working with circuits and electronic test equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Ability to manage technical documentation and logs accurately
