LABORATORY TECHNICIAN: Ref. No. 340

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc. Degree in Construction Management/Quantity Surveying, or equivalent NQF level 7.
  • At least 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience or
  • At least 2 years of industry experience within the built environment.

Additional Recommendations

  • Good communication and lecturing skills.
  • A strong passion for technology, teaching, and research.
  • Experience with BIM.
  • Proof of 2 years of teaching, tutoring, or practical experience at a higher education institute or private institution.
  • Experience with OHS and procurement practices.
  • Experience in the built environment software: WinQS, CCS, MS Project, or Revit

Summary Of Duties

  • Teaching laboratory software at all levels.
  • The development of technological learning materials.
  • The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in technological research and development in the department.
  • Oversee the operations of the computer and practical laboratory, in maintaining existing infrastructure, software, hardware, and computing.
  • Assist with departmental, administrative, and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department.
