Citra is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Facility Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our R&D testing laboratory. The Facility Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment for conducting a wide range of testing activities. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of laboratory operations and safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Operations & Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including chemicals, consumables, and equipment parts.
- Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs of laboratory infrastructure and equipment.
- Ensure the laboratory is clean, organized, and compliant with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Implement and maintain effective laboratory management systems.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures, including chemical handling, waste disposal, and emergency response.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards.
- Manage and maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain records pertaining to laboratory certifications and equipment calibration.
- Facility Management:
- Manage building utilities, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Coordinate with external vendors for facility maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee security systems and access control.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
- Ensure the laboratory meets all accessibility standards.
- Team Management & Coordination:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory support staff.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with the R&D team to ensure efficient scheduling and resource allocation.
- Maintain positive professional relationships with all staff.
- Budget & Procurement:
- Develop and manage the laboratory's operating budget.
- Procure laboratory equipment, supplies, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of expenditures and inventory.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical qualification in Engineering, Science, or related field.
- A Bachelor's Degree will be considered favorably.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in laboratory management or facility management, preferably in a testing environment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of equipment calibration and maintenance procedures.
- Experience with budget management and procurement.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 is a strong asset.
- Certifications in facility management or safety management is a benefit.
